Solid Elm flooring was an historical favourite in the UK from the Middle Ages to the middle of the 19th century. Due to the Dutch Elm disease epidemic in the 1970s, many of the trees that would have provided a popular supply have disappeared, therefore making the material rare and in short supply. This shortage of supply and rarity has meant that Solid Elm flooring has become an exclusive and desirable commodity in flooring terms.
Solid Elm flooring is a popular and robust material for most buildings, often used in a variety of widths; solid Elm hardwood flooring is rich in colour and sapwood variation and is stable and long lasting. We are able to source quality Solid Elm flooring and would be delighted to discuss the requirements on a project by project basis.
