Elm flooring was an historical favourite in the UK from the Middle Ages to the middle of the 19th century. Engineered Elm is a popular and robust flooring material for most buildings, often used in a variety of widths, engineered Elm hardwood is rich in colour and sapwood variation and is stable and long lasting. Due to the Dutch Elm disease epidemic in the 1970s, many of the trees that would have provided a popular supply have disappeared, therefore making the material rare and in short supply. This shortage of supply and rarity has meant that Engineered Elm has become an exclusive and desirable commodity in flooring terms. We are able to source quality Engineered Elm flooring and would be delighted to discuss the requirements on a project by project basis.
